Public, unlisted or private: which event setting should you pick?
What each visibility setting does on beMYN, who can open the invite, and how the invite link works for private events.

There are three settings for who can see your event, and picking the right one takes about ten seconds once you know what they do.
Public
Anyone can open it, and upcoming public events are listed on Discover. Good for open meetups, community events, anything where more people is better. If you'd rather not share the exact address with the whole internet, turn on "reveal location after RSVP" and only people who respond will see it.
Unlisted
Anyone with the link can open it, but it's never listed anywhere. This is what most people want for a birthday or a dinner: easy to share in the group chat, invisible otherwise.
Private
Only people with the invite link can open it. When someone opens that link they can see the event, RSVP and vote in polls. Anyone who stumbles on the plain event address without the invite gets nothing.

You can switch visibility any time from the edit page. It applies straight away.
