Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of beMYN, including the website, event pages, and invitation links (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, publishing an event, or responding to an invitation, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Who can use beMYN

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to consent to online services, to use beMYN. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your account and for everything that happens under it. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.

4. Hosting events

Hosts are responsible for their events: the details they publish, who they invite, and the event itself. beMYN provides invitation and RSVP tools; we do not organise, attend, supervise, or vouch for any event.

• Make sure event details such as time, place, and capacity are accurate.
• Only share guest information for the purpose of running your event.
• Follow the laws that apply to your event, including venue, licensing, and safety rules.

5. Guests and RSVPs

When you respond to an invitation, the host and any co-hosts can see your response, the names of guests you bring, and your answers to their questions. Depending on the host's settings, other guests may see your name and photo in the guest list.

6. Tickets and payments

Hosts can give out free tickets or sell paid tickets for their events. Payments are processed by Stripe. The host is responsible for the event and for the tickets they offer.

If you sell paid tickets as a host:

• You connect a Stripe account and accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service. Stripe may ask you for identity and bank details and decides whether it can process payments for you.
• You choose a refund policy for your event. It is shown to buyers before they pay, and you must honour it.
• You must hold the event as described, or cancel it so buyers are refunded.
• You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your ticket sales, including collecting and paying them.
• Ticket money is paid out to your Stripe account after the event, normally 2 days after it ends. Refunds and chargebacks are taken from your share before it is paid out.
• If a buyer disputes a payment with their bank (a chargeback), we may recover the disputed amount from your share of the ticket sales. If the dispute is decided in your favour, it is returned to you.

Fees on paid tickets:

• beMYN charges a service fee on each paid ticket, as set out in the Ticket fees article in our Support center. Free tickets carry no fee.
• Card processing is charged at Stripe's cost. Buyers pay the service fee and card processing on top of the ticket price, unless the host chooses to absorb them, in which case they come out of the ticket price.
• The total a buyer sees before paying is the amount charged.

Refunds for buyers:

• Refunds are issued by the host under the host's refund policy. Buyers ask the host for a refund.
• When a host refunds a ticket, the buyer gets the ticket price back. The service fee and card processing are not refunded.
• When a host cancels an event, every paid order is refunded in full, fees included.
• If a payment completes after the tickets have sold out, it is refunded in full automatically.
• Refunds usually reach the buyer's card within 5 to 10 business days, depending on their bank.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the text, images, and other content you add to beMYN. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, and share that content only as needed to operate and improve the Service, for example to show your invite to the people you share it with.

You confirm you have the rights to the content you upload, including any cover images.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use beMYN to:

• Harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone.
• Publish unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit content, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
• Send spam or unsolicited bulk invitations.
• Promote events that are illegal or unsafe.
• Probe, disrupt, or overload the Service, or access it by automated means without our permission.

We may remove content or events that break these rules.

9. Third-party services

Some features rely on other providers, such as Google for sign-in, Unsplash for cover photos, and Stripe for ticket payments and payouts. Your use of those features is also subject to the provider's own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

10. Changes to the Service

Creating events, collecting RSVPs, and free tickets are free to use. Paid tickets carry the fees described in section 6, which are always shown before anyone pays. We are continuously improving beMYN, which means features may be added, changed, or removed. We will try to give reasonable notice of changes that significantly affect you. If we change our fees, we will tell you first, and the new fees will not apply to orders already placed.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using beMYN at any time and can ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other people at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, such as disclaimers and limits of liability, continue to apply.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that RSVPs and messages will always be delivered.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, beMYN will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for anything that happens at an event. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use beMYN after an update means you accept the new terms.
