1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us when using the Service. This includes your name, email address, and profile picture from Google Authentication, as well as the names, messages, and images you upload while creating your personalized greetings.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected information to generate and host your digital experiences, manage your account, and track view statistics. We may also analyze anonymous usage patterns and feedback to improve our underlying technologies, including automated systems, to enhance the user experience. Any such data used for service improvement is processed ephemerally and is not permanently stored for these purposes. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Data Storage & Security
All data including personal messages and images are stored securely on Firebase (Google Cloud). We use industry-standard encryption for data at rest and in transit. Access to your private greetings is restricted by unique obfuscated URLs.
4. Third-Party Services
We use Stripe for payment processing. beMYN does not store your credit card information; it is handled entirely by Stripe's secure infrastructure. We also use Firebase Authentication and Firestore to manage session state and document storage.
5. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies to maintain your login session. We also use local storage to track anonymous view counts on shared links and prevent redundant view increments. We do not use advertising or tracking pixels that follow you across the web.
6. Your Rights & Deletion
You have the right to access, edit, or delete the greetings you've created at any time through your dashboard. When you delete a greeting, it is permanently removed from our active database. You can also request a full account deletion and data wipe by contacting us.
7. Marketing Communications (CASL Compliance)
In compliance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we will only send you commercial electronic messages if we have your express or implied consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the 'Unsubscribe' link in any marketing email or by contacting us at privacy@bemyn.co. Transactional emails required for the Service (such as purchase receipts) are exempt and will still be sent.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to securely delete such information.
9. Canadian Privacy Rights (PIPEDA & Provincial Laws)
beMYN complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws (such as Quebec's Law 25). You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. We have designated a Privacy Officer to handle compliance. To exercise your rights, please contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@bemyn.co.
10. International Data Transfers & Global Users
While beMYN is headquartered in Canada, our services are global. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that your personal data may be transferred to, processed, and stored in Canada, the United States (via Google Firebase), or other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
11. Data Retention & Dormant Accounts
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. To minimize data storage and protect privacy, beMYN reserves the right to securely delete any account, including all associated digital greetings and media, that has been completely inactive for a period of 24 consecutive months.
